My Mentor 2030: Sustainable and Inclusive Development for Students and PhD Candidates

With support from the Emilia-Romagna Region, the UC CareER Hub project, promoted by the Stage & Placement Service at the Piacenza campus, has been developed as part of the European Social Fund Plus (ESF+) 2021-2027 Program.

The UC CareER Hub initiative, approved under Regional Law No. 2/2003, known as the "Talents" law, is an integrated program designed to improve career services and career development opportunities. The goal is to enhance employment prospects while promoting sustainable development, digital transition, and regional well-being.

In this context, "UC CareER Hub: MyMentor 2030 - Sustainable and Inclusive Development Pathways" has been launched, building on the My Mentor Cattolica Program. This advanced mentorship program is aimed at final-year master's students and PhD candidates, fostering dialogue between mentees and highly qualified mentors to support their professional growth in a sustainable and inclusive way.

The Scientific Committee (CTS) oversees the program using both qualitative and quantitative evaluation tools to ensure ongoing progress. The program combines in-person events and hybrid sessions, including focus groups that allow for feedback and discussion on the mentoring process. These focus groups not only help track progress but also give participants the chance to enrich their mentoring experience through direct engagement.

Personalized mentoring sessions, available both in-person and online, are tailored to the career and research goals of the mentees. Additionally, thematic workshops cover key topics like research project management, academic writing, and the transition to the workforce.

Virtual mentoring provides logistical flexibility, using digital platforms that help mentees balance their academic and professional responsibilities.

"UC CareER Hub: MyMentor 2030 - Sustainable and Inclusive Development Pathways" aims to expand collaboration with mentors across the region and reach more specialized participants, including PhD candidates, doctors, and research fellows. Consistent with the "Talents" law, the program's ultimate goal is to enhance regional development and professional opportunities, positioning Emilia-Romagna as a hub for attracting and nurturing local talent.
